Brew & Go — Privacy Policy

Brew & Go (Pty) Ltd, operating the Brew & Go coffee shop in Blackheath, South Africa
(“Brew & Go”, “we”, “us”), runs the Brew & Go mobile app. This privacy
policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you sign up and use the app we collect:
- Email address and a display name you provide.
- Purchase activity at the till — when staff scans your loyalty QR code, we
record that a stamp was added and which staff member added it.
- Coupons & vouchers you have earned, used, or expired.
- Push-notification token (if you allow notifications) so we can let you
know about specials and shop news.
- Order information when you buy merch through the app (which products, when,
payment status). Payment card details are handled directly by our payment
processor (Yoco) — we never see your card number.
- Photos you choose to upload when an admin posts a special or news item
with an image (admin-only).
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your browsing history outside
the app, or any personal data beyond what is listed above.
How we use it
- To run the loyalty program (stamps, coupons, vouchers).
- To send you notifications about specials and shop news (you can turn this off
in your phone settings).
- To process and fulfil merch orders.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share it with third parties
except where strictly needed to provide the service:
- Supabase — our backend hosting provider (database, auth, file storage).
- Expo — the platform we use to deliver push notifications and app updates.
- Yoco — payment processing for merch.
- Apple / Google — to distribute the app via the App Store / Play Store.
How long we keep it
- Account data is kept while your account is active.
- Stamp / coupon / order history is kept for 5 years for normal record-keeping.
- Push tokens are deleted automatically if your device hasn’t opened the app
in 90 days.
Your rights
You may at any time:
- View or update your profile from within the app.
- Request deletion of your account by emailing info@brewandgo.co.za.
We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we are
legally required to keep (e.g. tax-related order records).
- Withdraw consent for push notifications via your phone’s settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data
from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way we will notify you via the app or by
email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
